Job Description: Coordinator of Computer Science, E-Sports, Coding, and AI Integration
Position Overview: The Coordinator of Computer Science, E-Sports, Coding, and AI Integration will oversee and develop programs that integrate technology-driven disciplines into the educational experience. This leadership role involves curriculum design, faculty collaboration, program management, and fostering innovation in technology education. The Coordinator will also spearhead initiatives in e-sports, coding, and artificial intelligence (AI), ensuring students are equipped with 21st-century skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and maintain curricula for computer science, e-sports, coding, and AI-related programs.
Identify and integrate emerging technologies into educational practices to enhance learning outcomes.
Establish benchmarks and standards for program success.
- Leadership and Strategy:
- Provide vision and leadership for advancing computer science and AI integration throughout the school district.
- Develop strategic plans for expanding e-sports and coding initiatives.
- Collaborate with school leadership and district administrators to align technology programs with broader educational goals.
- E-Sports Management:
- Oversee the development and management of e-sports programs, including team recruitment, coaching, and competitions.
- Ensure facilities, technology, and equipment meet the needs of competitive gaming.
- Foster partnerships with e-sports organizations and sponsors.
- Professional Development and Support:
- Provide training and resources for teachers to effectively deliver computer science, coding, and AI curricula.
- Support faculty in implementing innovative teaching methods and technologies.
- Community Engagement and Partnerships:
- Build partnerships with local businesses, universities, and tech companies to enhance student opportunities.
- Organize community outreach programs and events to promote technology education.
- AI Integration:
- Lead initiatives to incorporate AI tools and methodologies into classroom instruction and administrative processes.
- Promote ethical considerations and responsible use of AI in educational contexts.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Educational Technology, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience in curriculum design and program management in technology-focused education.
- Knowledge of e-sports management, coding platforms, and AI applications in education.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to foster innovation and build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with K-12 education systems and standards.
- Experience coaching or managing e-sports teams.
- Proficiency in programming languages and AI tools.
- Understanding of current trends in educational technology.
Reporting Structure: The Coordinator of Computer Science, E-Sports, Coding, and AI Integration will report directly to the Superintendent or designee and will collaborate closely with school principals, IT staff, and curriculum specialists.
Work Environment: This position may require travel between schools, attendance at evening events, and occasional weekend responsibilities. The work environment will include a mix of office settings, classrooms, and technology labs.
Compensation: Salary and benefits will be commensurate with qualifications and experience, in accordance with district policies.
